In 2025, Barbara Herzfeld was asked by The Carter Burden Gallery and Emmemm Publishing, for their Art Explorers Workshops, to teach a Watercolor Workshop at the gallery. The attendees learned the basics of color, color mixing, and how to deepen/darken color without using black. Also, how to apply and manage/blend the paint and water and move the color around on the page.
Later, in conjunction with the workshop, she was interviewed about her career as an artist as a part of the series “8 Questions On The Bench”. Here is the link to that interview.

In 2026, Barbara Herzfeld was again asked by The Carter Burden Gallery and Emmemm Publishing to teach a 2nd workshop in the gallery. This time it was Drawing Portraits: Exploring The Human Face. Attendees learned the general location of human features and their relationship to the skull, creating a map of the human head. Then they used that information to more specifically draw and paint portraits from photos of their choice.
